<image:title>Blog - Stuck in a Cycle of Reassurance Seeking? EMDR Therapy Might Help - What Is EMDR Therapy? EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals process distressing memories and negative thought patterns. Originally developed for trauma and PTSD, EMDR has been found effective for various mental health conditions, including anxiety and OCD-related symptoms. Through guided bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds), EMDR helps the brain reprocess stuck memories and beliefs, reducing their emotional charge and impact.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Why Can't I Stop Thinking About the Past? (Part 2) - Do you find yourself replaying painful memories over & over again?</image:title>
<image:caption>Does it feel like no matter how hard you try, you can't seem to move past the past--no matter how long ago it was? If you answered yes to the above questions, you're not alone. Our brains are wired to process experiences, but sometimes they get stuck in painful loops--especially when it comes to distressing or traumatic events. It can feel like no matter how hard you try; you can't break free from thinking about the past. In Part 1, we explored why painful memories linger and how they can shape our emotions and reactions in the present. Now, let's dive deeper into why this happens and what you can do about it.</image:caption>

Maybe you constantly criticize yourself or feel unworthy of love and respect. These feelings don’t come out of nowhere; they often stem from deeply rooted negative core beliefs. These subconscious thoughts shape how you view yourself, others, and the world, feeding anxiety and crippling self-esteem.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Unmasking the Roots of Anxiety and Low Self-Esteem: How Negative Core Beliefs Hold You Back - What exactly is a core belief? Core beliefs are the deeply ingrained thoughts and assumptions you hold about yourself, others, and the world. They’re often formed in childhood and shaped by your early experiences, such as how you were treated by caregivers, peers, or authority figures. While some core beliefs can be positive and empowering, negative core beliefs can act like mental filters, distorting your perception and reinforcing feelings of inadequacy, fear, or self-doubt. These beliefs often operate in the background, influencing your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors without you even realizing it. For example, if your core belief is “I’m not good enough,” you might interpret neutral situations—like a coworker being quiet—as evidence of your inadequacy, even when it’s not true. Over time, this pattern fuels anxiety and erodes self-esteem.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Why SMART Goals and Habits Matter for Anxiety, Self-Esteem, and New Year’s Resolutions - How to Align SMART Goals with New Year’s Resolutions Overcoming Overwhelm with Small Steps: Anxiety can make large goals—like “get a new job”—seem impossible. Break them into smaller, actionable steps can help. For instance, a SMART resolution might look like: “I will spend 20 minutes updating my LinkedIn profile twice this week.” This approach lets you tackle tasks in bite-sized pieces, building your confidence with each completed step. Building Consistency with Realistic : Many New Year’s resolutions fail because they’re too ambitious. If you’re trying to exercise more but struggle with consistency, a SMART resolution could be: “I will take a 10-minute walk three times a week for the next month.” Pairing this new habit with something you already do—like walking after lunch—makes it easier to stick with and integrate into your routine.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - How EMDR Therapy Can Help You Overcome “I'm Not Good Enough” and “I'm Worthless” Beliefs - How EMDR Therapy Can Help You Feel Worthy Again</image:title>
<image:caption>EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a unique and effective way to address and change negative core beliefs. Here's how it works: Identifying the Negative Belief The first step in EMDR is to identify the negative core belief, such as "I'm not good enough" or "I'm worthless." Your therapist will help you pinpoint the experiences that contribute to this belief. Reprocessing Distressing Memories During an EMDR session, you will focus on a distressing memory while utilizing bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping. This helps your brain reprocess the memory and change its emotional impact. Replacing Negative Beliefs with Positive Ones As the memory is reprocessed, the negative belief begins to shift. Your therapist will help you replace it with a positive belief, such as "I am worthy" or "I am enough." Healing and Growth Over Time EMDR helps reduce the intensity of negative beliefs and strengthens positive ones, leading to improved self-esteem, confidence, and emotional well-being.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - EMDR Therapy: Unlocking the Path to Healing - EMDR Can Help You Let Go of Negative Beliefs</image:title>
<image:caption>Do you find yourself struggling to let go of negative beliefs, no matter how hard you try to adopt newer, healthier beliefs about yourself? EMDR can help you move from: I’m not good enough to I am good enough. I have to be perfect to I am allowed to make mistakes. I should have known better to I am only responsible for what I can control. My best isn’t good enough to my best is the best I can do. I am not safe to I am safe. I can’t trust myself to I can trust myself. I am not in control to I am in control. I am powerless to I do have power. I am stuck to I have control over my future. I’m defective to I’m whole. I’m a failure to I am confident in who I am.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Insomnia Relief: Tips and Strategies to Improve Your Sleep | Expert Insights - Do you find yourself tossing and turning instead of quickly falling asleep like everyone else? Do you struggle to fall or stay asleep, no matter how tired you are? Does it feel like you’ve tried every possible option for getting a good night’s rest? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you know the toll insomnia can take. By definition, insomnia is a sleep disorder that prevents us from achieving quality rest on a regular basis. It can be acute (in response to a stressful life event) or chronic over time. Everyone knows the importance of quality sleep for physical and mental health, which can make insomnia that much more stressful. While everyone struggles with an occasional night of sleeplessness, when insomnia begins to interfere with daily life or if the thought of trying to fall asleep fills you with dread, it may be time to take action. In this blog, I’m sharing tips and strategies to help alleviate sleep anxiety and overcome insomnia. I am a therapist who specializes in treating folks experiencing insomnia and sleep anxiety. I provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and actively work with clients to help them overcome sleep difficulties.</image:title>
