Online Anxiety Therapy for High-Functioning Adults in North Carolina, Kentucky & Florida

Get to the root of your anxiety & finally feel calm.

If you look capable and successful on the outside but feel anxious, self-critical, or exhausted on the inside, you’re not alone. I provide online anxiety therapy for adults in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Florida, including major cities and surrounding communities, using evidence-based approaches including EMDR therapy. This work goes beyond coping skills we focus on getting to the root of your anxiety & helping your nervous system finally stand down.

You’re in the right place if:

  • You appear calm and competent, but your mind never fully turns off.

  • You replay conversations or decisions long after they’re over.

  • You feel responsible for everything — and everyone.

  • You struggle to rest without guilt.

  • You’re tired of “managing” anxiety and want deeper change.

Let me guess…

Does it feel like anxiety has taken over your life?

You know something is missing but it’s hard to put your finger on what it is exactly. You just know that you’re tired of feeling this way. You’re sick of feeling anxious no matter what you do. Ultimately you’re weary of:

  • Constantly questioning yourself

  • Struggling to relax

  • Avoiding situations that trigger anxiety or make you feel uncomfortable

  • Persistent worries

  • Feeling uncomfortable in situations that don’t seem to bother everyone else

At times, anxiety can feel like it’s in the driver’s seat. Are you tired to going out of your way to avoid situations or trying to come up with plans for coping with how you’ve been feeling?

Feeling stuck?

You’re tired of worries invading your personal life and your relationships.  It’s hard to feel connected to others when you’re constantly critiquing your social performance. Did you say the right thing? Did you do the right thing? Pushing yourself to be perfect is exhausting. You feel disconnected from the people you should feel the most connected with.

You’re tired of pushing yourself so hard at work. Rationally, you know that you’re just human and allowed to make mistakes but you can’t seem to not push yourself to the breaking point. You agonize over mistakes and worry about how you’re perceived professionally.

No matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to turn your brain off. You’re exhausted from  thinking the same thoughts over & over again.

Why Insight Alone Often Isn’t Enough

Many high-achieving adults understand why they’re anxious — but insight hasn’t changed the pattern.

Anxiety is not just a thinking problem. It’s a nervous system pattern.

That’s why I integrate EMDR therapy and structured, evidence-based approaches to help resolve anxiety at the root, not just manage the symptoms.

How EMDR Therapy Helps Anxiety

Many high-achievers and professional understand their anxiety intellectually. You’ve reflected. You’ve analyzed. You may even know exactly when and where it started. You know it isn’t rational but your brain doesn’t seem to care about that. As you likely know, insight alone doesn’t always calm the nervous system or reduce anxiety.

EMDR therapy helps your brain reprocess experiences that may still be activating anxiety in the present. When past stress, pressure, or overwhelming moments are unresolved, your system can stay in a constant state of alert, even when you’re safe. It’s hard to out-rationalize your nervous system.

Through structured EMDR therapy, we work directly with the patterns underneath anxiety so your body no longer feels like it has to stay “on” all the time.

If trauma, chronic stress, or long-standing relational dynamics are contributing to your anxiety, EMDR can help reduce reactivity and restore internal steadiness. EMDR is widely recognized as an effective treatment for trauma and is increasingly used to treat anxiety rooted in chronic stress and unresolved experiences.

A note about fit: this practice is best suited for high-functioning adults who are ready for structured, focused therapy work.

Managing your anxiety is possible.

You’re ready to feel connected with your loved ones again. You’re ready to feel as confident as you look on the outside. You want to enjoy your day instead of having to plan around your anxiety. You want to quiet your pesky inner-voice.

Together we’ll work towards identifying strategies for immediate coping and dig deep to uncover and treat the roots of your anxiety. Our work together will be based on a past, present, and future lens. We’ll explore situations from the past that your anxiety may stem from, current unhelpful patterns that trigger and reinforce anxiety, and develop a plan for your future.

Therapy can help you move from constant mental overdrive to steadier internal ground. Many clients notice fewer racing thoughts, less self-criticism, and more emotional flexibility within the first several months of structured work.

Therapy for anxiety can help you:

  • Learn how to better understand yourself, your emotions, and the why behind them to begin healing from the inside out.

  • Anxiety treatment can help you shift old unhelpful patterns, regain control over your thoughts & emotions, and break free from what keeps you frozen.

  • You can learn to move past the painful wounds of the past. Uncovering the root causes of your anxiety allows for growth & healing, not just management of your symptoms.

  • While we can’t control what life throws at us, anxiety therapy can help you respond to everyday stressors with more confidence, calm, and clarity. Allowing you to find resilience in the face of struggles.

  • If anxiety, stress, and overwhelm have you second-guessing everything, therapy can help you rebuild trust in yourself. Allowing you to feel confident in your own decision making.

  • Tired of feeling like you’re putting on a mask? You deserve to feel confident in your decision making.

FAQS

What others have wondered about anxiety therapy

  • Yes! There are highly effective strategies for managing and minimizing anxiety. We’ll work together to come up with a plan to not only help you cope with your anxiety on a regular basis but also work towards decreasing your overall anxiety long-term.

  • Unfortunately, the answer to this question varies from person to person. During our first session we’ll discuss your treatment goals & agree upon a schedule for how often to meet (weekly, biweekly, etc). Throughout the therapy process, feedback is always welcome. Most clients will typically be seen more frequently in the beginning of treatment and will begin extending time between sessions, as progress towards therapy goals is made.

  • If therapy wasn’t helpful for you in the past or if it wasn’t as helpful as you would have liked it to be, that doesn’t mean that therapy can’t be helpful for you currently. Since everyone is different, it’s important to find the right fit for your therapy needs.

  • Generally, prospective clients will ask questions about scheduling, insurance, and/or how therapy services might benefit their specific needs. There aren’t any wrong questions and it’s very low pressure. If additional questions pop up after the consultation phone call, you can always reach back out. .
